We understand that sometimes it’s easy to lose or break them, so that’s why we offer “Retain My Smile,” an affordable and worry-free retainers program for everybody to ensure you always have one when you need it.
Retain My Smile is a long-term retainer protection for patients and not-yet-patients of Axelrode Orthodontics, so you can keep your smile straight without surprising costs. For a one-time fee, you’ll receive:
- Up to 4 replacement retainers per year for 10 years
- No office visit fees for replacements
- Flexible payment options
This means no more stress over lost, broken, or worn-out retainers, and no expensive replacements catching you off guard.

Eligibility
Who is eligible?
All Axelrode Orthodontics patients are eligible to enroll in our Retain My Smile program. Simply speak with a team member at your office, and they’ll guide you through the enrollment process. It doesn’t matter if your treatment is with braces or clear aligners.
You may choose to make a one-time payment at the start of your treatment or spread the cost over five monthly installments, conveniently added to your existing payment plan.

When do I need to replace my retainer?
Regularly inspecting your retainer and consulting with your orthodontist can help determine the right time for a replacement. However, you should consider replacing them if you notice:

- Discoloration: Stains or buildup that cannot be cleaned.

Outside a retainer program, the fee to replace each retainer can be around $400 per arch. That means you could be paying $800 to replace your retainers.
How long do the retainers usually last?
It depends on the type of retainer and how well it’s maintained. Clear plastic retainers often need replacement after 3 years.
How long can I go without wearing retainers?
Skipping them for a few nights can allow teeth to shift. Skipping them for an extended period can allow teeth to move back toward their original positions, potentially necessitating further orthodontic treatment.
Terms & Conditions
*To be eligible for the Retain My Smile Program, the patient must maintain good financial standing with our office. The program is valid for 10 years from the date treatment is completed. If purchased separately from treatment, the 10-year term begins on the date of purchase. If the patient relocates or is otherwise unable or unwilling to return to our office for replacement retainers, the full program fee will remain the patient’s responsibility.
